What we believe

At Maple Ridge Baptist Church, we stand firm in our beliefs as guided by the Holy Scriptures. We firmly uphold:

  1. Verbal Inspiration of the Scriptures: We believe that every word in the Scriptures is inspired by God and serves as the ultimate authority in matters of faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16)

  2. Virgin Birth of Jesus: We affirm the miraculous virgin birth of Jesus as foretold in prophecy and recorded in the Scriptures, signifying His divine nature. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25)

  3. Perfect Sinless Life of Jesus: We believe in the sinless perfection of Jesus, who walked this earth as the spotless Lamb of God, demonstrating the fullness of God's righteousness. (Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22)

  4. Sacrificial Death of Jesus on the Cross: We embrace the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross as the atonement for the sins of humanity, demonstrating God's love and grace. (Romans 5:8)

  5. Bodily Resurrection of Jesus: We affirm the historical reality of Jesus' bodily resurrection from the tomb, providing victory over sin and death for all who believe. (Luke 24:1-12)

  6. Imminent Return of Jesus Christ: We eagerly anticipate the imminent return of Jesus Christ for His bride, the Church, as promised in Scripture, and eagerly await His glorious appearing. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)

  7. Literal Hell of Eternal Fire: We believe in the existence of a literal Hell, a place of eternal separation from God, as described in Scripture, underscoring the urgency of salvation and the gravity of rejecting God's offer of grace. (Mark 9:42-48)
